The Academy of Information Technology at Dickinson High School are actively seeking local business leaders interested in joining the Advisory Board.
How can the Academy of Information Technology help your business?
When businesses invest in the Academy Program, they are investing in futures. It's a great way to give back to the community. By supporting Academy students, businesses can take a direct role in our school:
- By offering educational enhancements and a bridge to the business and professional world for students
- By helping to shape a new generation of worldly, diverse, highly-trained and versatile professionals
- By utilizing temporary employees during critical periods
- By selecting from knowledgeable students
- By recruiting future employees
- By contributing to public school education
- By helping create a motivated, educated workforce
What does a member of the Advisory Board do? You can “pick and choose” it is completely up to you!
- Provide “internships” Between the students’ junior and senior year of high school, they are required to work an internship with the industry of their academy theme. Since the students are working over the summer, you would have the opportunity to interview them at the end of April. The interviews are held at the high school. The hours and pay are very flexible depending on your needs.
- Provide financial support Contributions help to defray the cost of Academy events, such as field trips and the Academy Graduation held every June. The money is also used to provide scholarships for the Academy seniors.
